My Weight Loss Battle
Several years ago, I was in the Marines and super fit.
Unfortunately, after I got out of the Marines and went to work in an office where I often ate out every meal. Daily stress and “lack of time” to exercise caused me to balloon over 150LBS over my ideal weight.
My mother asked me about my plans for burial……..
So, I hired a trainer for $300 a month and worked out in the gym every day, but I would lose the same 20lbs over and over for 6 months.
I became frustrated and tired, but I refused to allow this to be my end. I kept trying many things.
One of the successful test I found was cutting carbs and sugars. This led me to find out about the Atkins Diet and then the Ketogenic Diet.
The fat seemed to melt off me. After a month all friends and family all noticed.
You might be asking, what is the keto diet? Developed in the 1920, the Ketogenic diet emphasize foods rich in natural fats and adequate in protein, and restrict foods high in carbohydrate (sugars and starches). (see chart to the right)
While the Standard American Diet (SAD) contains 45-65 of calories from carbohydrate, ketogenic diets restrict carbohydrate intake to about 2-4 of calories on a standard 2000 calorie diet.
During this time, I went from working out 6 days a week to only 3, but I achieved better weight loss.
After sticking with the keto diet, I lost over 100lbs in a year. It wasn’t easy, but the Keto Diet made it possible.

When you follow the ketogenic diet, your body burns its own fat. Your liver converts “fat” to “ketones.”
